Wedding Celebration Ceremonies

Ceremonies as precious as your love for each other

Every love story is different.

Every relationship is unique.

So why not have a wedding ceremony that is as original and special as you are?

A marriage has legal standing but while you will need to conduct the statutory requirement in a register office there is no other need to be tied to certain venues or the same one-size-fits-all type of wording or ceremony that is both impersonal and uninspiring.

Why use a celebrant?

Using a celebrant means you can have your wedding wherever you choose. And have whatever wording you feel sums up your special relationship.

Whether this is in a magnificent marquis, a farmers’ field or a grand or simple function hall is entirely up to you. You might want to be daring and innovative or just plain practical but the most important thing is that the ceremony will be what you want and will take place where you want it to.

How will it work?

From our initial meeting I will talk and listen to you both and finally put together the words which truly reflect what you mean to each other and the commitment you are about to make.

Symbolic actions

You can even choose a special symbolic action such as hand fasting, wine tasting or jumping the broom if that’s what suits you.

After the event

After the event you will receive a personalised and high-quality souvenir script as a reminder of the commitments you made to each other on your wedding celebration day.

In short, the ceremony will be as individual as you are.

Costs

Costs for wedding ceremonies start from £450 and include bespoke script, assistance with vow writing if required, the conducting of the ceremony, a certificate and a beautifully presented souvenir script.

Renewal of Vows

Another precious memory in your lives together

Couples renew their wedding vows for a variety of reasons. They may have reached a milestone anniversary, had children or come through a tumultuous time in their relationship. Perhaps the initial wedding wasn’t quite the celebration that it should have been. Whatever the reason the ceremony can be anything from a poignant and precious time to just a lovely excuse for party!

A Renewal of Vows ceremony gives you the chance to stand before family and friends and reinforce those promises you made to each other at your wedding. You can choose to have a very private ceremony with just the two of you or include any children you may now have – however young or old they now are.

Whether you have been married a year and wish to revisit your vows or 50 years and want to give thanks for what you have both had – the choice is yours and the ceremony will be totally bespoke and personal to you.

How will it work?

As your celebrant I will meet, talk and listen to you both and finally produce a ceremony which reflects the journey you have taken and points towards the future that lies ahead. It can be uplifting and full of humour or thoughtful and packed with emotion. Or a mixture of both.

Where can the ceremony take place?

Your vow renewal can take place anywhere. Many people choose to hold them in the home which holds so many memories but hotels, village halls and community centres would all be perfect. Or go for the great outdoors if that’s more your thing. It’s your day after all

Costs

Costs for renewal of vow ceremonies start from £275 and include bespoke script, assistance with vow writing if required, the conducting of the ceremony, a certificate and a beautifully presented souvenir script.

Baby Naming or Welcoming Ceremonies

Bringing a new baby into your life is one of the most wonderful and emotional things that will ever happen to you. So why not welcome that beautiful creature into the loving arms of your family, friends and extended family with a baby naming or welcoming ceremony?

Since time began new children and babies have been formally welcomed into communities and publicly given a name by which they would be identified throughout their whole life. Villages would come together to be introduced to the newcomer and often bring gifts or make pledges of support to the child which would last a lifetime.

Christening v Baby Naming

Christening services, which welcome a child into the house of God, are significant for those who are religious but many people nowadays would prefer their new born grows up to make this decision for themselves. A baby naming ceremony can be informal, poignant, sweet or official but it can serve as a rite of passage for the new child and formally introduce them into your social and family group.

Can I still have God parents?

God parents can still be nominated and either known by this name or referred to as Guide Parents or Supporting Adults. They can be encouraged to make public pledges of support or promises or simply look on proudly as the star of the show steals the day!

Bringing blended families together

These ceremonies are particularly suitable to welcome adopted children into their new families or bring families together – perhaps when a new born has half brothers or sisters or step-children are involved.

In fact, the older children can be included in the proceedings in a variety of ways which really helps to blend a family together.

What happens afterwards

The ceremony would conclude with a beautifully presented souvenir certificate and would last between 15-20 minutes. It can take place anywhere from the local village hall to a function room in a hotel or even in your own garden.

Costs

The cost of a naming ceremony starts from £275. This includes an initial meeting with you and your family, a bespoke and personal script, conducting the ceremony at the venue of your choice and a souvenir certificate. Additional costs may be incurred for ceremonial extras which can be organised on your behalf.

Civil Partnerships

Opposite sex couples are now also legally allowed to enter into civil partnerships in the same way that same sex couples have been doing since 2005. A legal civil partnership must be conducted by a registrar in an authorised venue but a celebrant can conduct something far more personal and intimate in the location of your choice.

Whatever your reasons for wanting a civil partnership, I will work with you to ensure you have a ceremony to remember. Authentic and original. Just like the two of you. Just like your very special relationship.

Commitment Ceremonies

A commitment ceremony can take place absolutely anywhere without any legal boundaries. It is a way of expressing your love and commitment to each other in front of family and friends and can be a preferred choice for a variety of reasons.

There are no restrictions – your ceremony, your choice, your commitment. I will craft the words, design the ceremony and ensure it suits both of you and the sense of occasion.

Funeral

Our memories are the most precious things that we have.

When somebody we love dies then we want the memory of them to live on in our hearts and minds and the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved them.

I believe that a funeral should truly reflect the character and individual nature of the person whose life is being commemorated. It is important that their wishes and yours are carried out and their story is told in a warm and authentic way.

I will do everything to ensure this is the case from creating the tribute, crafting unique wording for the committal or helping you to choose the appropriate readings or poems for the service.

This is an emotional and sensitive time and I will work with you, alongside your chosen funeral directors, to create a service which is as precious as your memories.
